The Air Force's winner, America's nuclear deterrent.
In the 1990's, Lockheed, partnering with Boeing and General Dynamics, worked to engineer a behemoth of otherwordly aerial power. The result? The YF-22. Competing against the YF-23 Black Widow II, what would soon be the Raptor performed in various flight tests and research missions throughout the program. Eventually, Lockheed was chosen as the victor, and the Black Widow II became a grey ghost of the past.
